Do aramaico ao zulu: O livro de ilustrações Serei eu pequena? foi traduzido para mais de 200 línguas e dialetos desde a sua publicação.
A história do autor Philipp Winterberg está disponível para todos os países do mundo em, pelo menos, uma língua nacional. É o primeiro livro infantil do mundo que abrange o mundo inteiro.
Em Serei eu pequena?, os leitores jovens e adultos acompanham a menina Tamia numa viagem repleta de maravilhas. Juntos descobrem que o tamanho é relativo e que a Tamia está bem da maneira como está. "Encantador", avalia a revista especializada Eselsohr; "maravilhoso para as famílias bilingues e jardins de infância", diz a Börsenblatt e a revista de crítica de livros Kirkus Reviews elogia amavelmente "para as crianças que gostam de se demorar em páginas cheias de criaturas mágicas e pormenores excêntricos [...] contado em palavras simples e cativantes e ilustrações imaginativas."
Mais de 500 tradutores já participaram no Livro Infantil Universal. Houve vezes em que a pesquisa demorou meses, "Tive de procurar um tradutor tibetano durante quase um ano", diz Winterberg. O livro também já está disponível em milhares de combinações linguísticas, como árabe-tagalo ou português-tigrínia — uma língua falada na Etiópia e na Eritreia, cujo alfabeto faz lembrar os desenhos infantis.
Nos próximos anos e décadas, o projeto do Livro Infantil Universal continuará a crescer. O objetivo é traduzir aos poucos o Serei eu pequena? em mais de 500 línguas e dialetos diferentes.
